Most of us buy moisturiser to put moisture back into our skin. We have all seen the dry leaf advert, it is used by many different skin care companies and does the rounds every few years. The dry leaf represents our skin that has ‘dried out’ and ‘lost it’s moisture’ and using their skin product the leaf returns to it’s soft moistened self. What a load of……..
Let’s have a look at most moisturisers. In fact go into your bathroom now and grab any jar of moisturiser that you have at home. Read the ingredients. OK well try to read the ingredients. Can’t pronounce half of them? Now have a little think, just a little one this won’t take long. When you lose the moisture in your skin throughout your busy day, what are you actually losing? Do you really think that any of those substances listed on your jar of skin care is actually leaving your skin on a daily even hourly basis?
When you lose moisture from your skin you lose water and oils, among other things such as salts and metabolic waste, yes waste from what you have metabolised! But basically the moisture you lose from you skin is just that; moisture and some oils. So why in Heavens name do we continue to put these dreaded concoctions on our skin? Because, those clever trillion dollar companies call it moisturiser. And we get tricked.
If there is anything natural or good in any moisturiser it is lost amongst the chemical and synthetic compounds and fillers that make up the contents of that expensive jar. Also most ‘fillers’ are made up of mineral oil. By fillers I mean any stuff that they can find to fill up the bottle, if they filled it up with the good stuff it would maybe work but it would be far to expensive for profit. The big companies that are interested in profit will use fillers such as mineral oils or animal fat or synthetic stuff. Mineral oil actually suffocates the skin and if you completely covered yourself in it you would eventually suffocate as did that poor girl in Goldfinger, the Bond movie, as paint will do the same.
Unfortunately if you pick up every bottle of moisturiser and check to see if there is mineral oil in it, you will never buy a bottle of skin care or hand cream ever again because they all have it. Well very few don’t and if you can let go of your name brand and expensive creams with all their beautiful perfume I suggest you head for you drug store or health store and start buying alternatives. You will find that real moisturisers are not cheap as they actually do contain ingredients that work, but they are worth every cent.
I hope that now you are well informed and ready to convert and stop being tricked by the big companies. Please feel welcome to email or post me a comment.
Don’t just take my word for it, Google mineral oils and organ damage or side effects and you will be horrified with what is reported among our esteemed medical fraternity. Be especially careful of mineral oils products in regard to flying and DVT and if you have high blood pressure.
See you at the health store.

If you do not use moisturizer, what do you use if your skin is dry?

Your skin looses oils, moisturizer is just something the cosmetic companies invented. Sophia Loren bathes in olive oil. Sweet Almond oil is gorgeous on your skin. Avocado oil is also good. Don’t use essential oils only carrier oils. Put them on at night and your skin will feel plump and fresh and moist in the morning. Email me if you want particular details. And thank you for purchasing my eBook The Ultimate Cellulite Treatment. My email is bronwyn@cellulitefreeme.com
