Does Endermologie work?
Endermologie is known as one of the leading treatments of cellulite but does it really work? Is it just the leading cellulite treatment around the world because it is the most expensive? If it costs a lot surely it must do something….let’s have a look at what Endermologie is and discuss the effects.
Before we start I want to make it perfectly clear to you that I am not against Endermologie but I am not necessarily a fan, due to the expense and little effect. I am not writing to denounce it as a treatment but want to give you another opinion before you spend THOUSANDS of dollars!
Firstly Endermologie is not even a real word and cannot be found in any dictionary I have in my library, although if you look the word up in an encyclopedia it will describe to you the machine that is this thing called Endermologie.
Secondly let’s have a look at what Endermologie is, as described by cellulitetreatment.org - a site that reviews common cellulite treatments:
‘Endermologie is a massage machine with two rollers that when rolled over the top layer of fat makes a fold. This folding action stretches the connective tissue that traps cellulite underneath the skin. As the skin stretches the appearance of cellulite is reduced along with inches of your cellulite and body measurements. The benefits of Endermologie are increased circulation, relief of muscular pain, reduction of muscle spasms and cellulite.
*Personally this sounds really painful but maybe I am more sensitive than most. It also sounds like it would generally cause bruising to many people and I hope you follow my articles as I have it on my list to tell you about cellulite being worsened by injury such as bruising and scarring.
The site goes on to say: Does Endermologie reduce cellulite? Yes. Endermologie has been extensively studied and approved by the FDA to specifically make the claim that it does reduce cellulite. However, it does not permanently remove cellulite. Results can last anywhere from 6 months to year’.
So there you go, all that expense and effort and possible pain for only a short term gain. I can see now why the Endermologie machines are very expensive as the idea is for women to constantly have treatments done for their entire life time.
Gosh this has all been very negative so I will say that I have not seen any serious adverse affects from Endermologie and it will stimulate circulation and get the blood moving through the cellulite areas. This can be done although just as effectively with plain old hands on massage.
