Only Women get Cellulite

Or is it that only women complain about it? Or is it that only women expose themselves in bikinis at the beach whereas men get away with long board shorts and a T-shirt? Regardless there is a simple explanation yet is a little involved so I will explain to you how it all works, why mostly cellulite only appears in women and how some men can get it too.

Firstly you need to understand what cellulite is. If you have cellulite or you are interested in women’s health and cellulite then you will have seen the absolute multitude of definitions of cellulite that there are and have been over the last four or five decades! The theories, terms and explanations of cellulite are varied, some hit the mark, some get it partly right and some are just plain old hilarious! Now and then I will surf looking for answers to what cellulite is just for a bit of a laugh. Unfortunately I end up getting really upset so I try not to do it any more.

The reason I get upset is really one and the same with what drove me to write my book but I will endeavor not to digress too much. It causes me great concern when I hear or read some of the stories out there that women are being told about their cellulite. Especially the people that say that women are supposed to have it and must put up with it. It is my mission in life to help women every where understand that not only are they not meant to have cellulite but that it is really, really easy to get rid of. See my article ‘Can you really get rid of cellulite’ which explains why we are not told how easy it is!

Cellulite is waste that our body is unable to process. For instance some things we keep (our body uses the food/fuel), some things we throw away in the garbage (our body eliminates). In these modern times of food habits and not just the last few decades which include an onslaught of takeaway foods but I am talking about the last few hundred years, we are eating and consuming more and more foods that our bodies were not designed to use and simply do not recognize. Processed foods contain preservatives, additives, colours and a number of chemical and synthetic substances that our body has not a clue how to deal with.

So our body has all these awful unnatural stuffs creeping around our body, clogging everything up, making our blood thick, blocking our arteries and generally interfering with our bodies normal, metabolic, cleansing and eliminatory systems. Or if you prefer: intake, assimilation and elimination.

Let us get to the point. Women are equipped with this wonderful and industrious little hormone called oestrogen. Most of us are familiar with this hormone as it affects us in many ways and is always at work, some times harder at work than other times. One of oestrogen’s main jobs is to keep the reproduction organs clear and safe from any danger. These chemicals that we eat and put on our body become toxic within our systems and it is these toxins that the estrogen moves to the outer parts of our body, away from our reproductive system. These areas being also where there is a higher fat content as the toxins can sit in there relatively safely, unable to cause too much harm. Fat cells and fat in general is basically a rather consistent smooth beast and can plump our skin quite nicely and have us looking toned and beautiful. Add to this fat layer under our skin some randomly shaped toxins and general waste and you have what we refer to as a dimpling appearance of the skin. The more cellulite you have the more lumpy and bumpy your outer areas appear to be. The cellulite will first appear in your buttocks and thighs, then legs, upper arms, even stomach; usually in that order.

Aha you think to yourself, that explains why we see cellulite so prominently in women as the hormone oestrogen is exclusively found in women, but cellulite also shows up in men how? You would be amazed to know just how many foods contain oestrogen and oestrogen like qualities. Certain foods such as soy and tofu contain hormone-like compounds called phytoestrogens which are plant-based foods high in oestrogen-like compounds. Yeah I know not a lot of men are craving tofu - but they do drink beer! Beer is made from Hops and oestrogen is present in hops so will be present in beer. At least it is helping to clear out his arteries as toxins do clog up arteries, which is why generally men have been more susceptible to heart disease than women.

Ok so I hope I have explained clearly why mostly only women get cellulite. I realise I have gone on a bit but I wanted to be thorough and honestly once you get me started on a cellulite related topic it is difficult for me to keep it brief.

By the way oestrogen is oft spelled estrogen. Estrogen is the more modern spelling and is used widely in the US. I am and Aussie girl so grew up under English law and education and I just can’t break the habit, sorry if there was any confusion.

ADD FOOD TO YOUR DIET, TO DIET - AND LOSE WEIGHT!

Add Food To Your Diet to diet!!!

Stop punishing yourself to lose weight! Stop sacrificing all those things your LOVE to eat! Stop focusing on foods you can’t have…. Stop subtracting the yummy naughty desirable food out of your life to lose weight!

Eat what you normally do. Eat what you want. BUT add foods to your diet that you KNOW are good for you.

If you can’t eat fibre…get some psylium husks and add them to your cereal. OR get a tub of Metamusil and stir a teaspoon into natural yoghurt for breakfast. Fibre cleanses the intestines - moving toxins on their way.

Before you have a burger for lunch or pizza for dinner also have a Lebanese cucmber and a stick or two of celery - great for water retention as they are a natural diurectic.

If you need a packet of chips for a snack have them but have a handful of low carb mixed nuts as well. Too much salt encourages water retention…just like a camel!

If you need chocolate go for it but have some fruit, stone fruit or strawberries or any berries or prunes, apricots and dates as well! Excess stored energy (fat) comes from the sugary foods and carbs we eat and that fat from sugar sits on our tummy.

Instead of replacing or swapping naughty food for good, first try just adding the good food to the naughty ones!

As your body gets used to getting good food it won’t be desperately seeking energy from salty and sweet foods and your need and cravings for them will diminish - without all the pain and anxiety and stress of dieting! Nice :D Stress will sit on your lower back and create fluid build up and the dreaded … BACK FAT!!!!

Now doesn’t adding good food to your diet sound much easier? YES!

So get of your bum tomorrow and hit the healthy section of your grocery store and you will find some yummy things to ADD to your diet!

For the love of fat: Why we crave chips and fries It’s hard to eat just one potato chip, and a new study may explain why.

It’s hard to eat just one potato chip, and a new study may explain why.

Fatty foods like chips and fries trigger the body to produce chemicals much like those found in marijuana, researchers report today (July 4) in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS). These chemicals, called “endocannabinoids,” are part of a cycle that keeps you coming back for just one more bite of cheese fries, the study found.

“This is the first demonstration that endocannabinoid signaling in the gut plays an important role in regulating fat intake,” study researcher Daniele Piomelli, a professor of pharmacology at the University of California, Irvine, said in a statement.

Homemade marijuana chemicals
The study found that fat in the gut triggers the release of endocannabinoids in the brain, but the gray stuff between your ears isn’t the only organ that makes natural marijuana-like chemicals. Human skin also makes the stuff. Skin cannabinoids may play the same role for us as they do for pot plants: Oily protection from the wind and sun.

Endocannabinoids are also known to influence appetite and the sense of taste, according to a 2009 study in PNAS, which explains the munchies people get when they smoke marijuana. [Read: 8 Reasons Our Waistlines Are Expanding ]

In the new study, Piomelli and her colleagues fitted rats with tubes that would drain the contents of their stomachs as they ate or drank. These stomach tubes allowed the researchers to tell whether fat was acting on the tongue, in which case they would see an endocannabinoid release even with the tubes implanted, or in the gut, in which case they wouldn’t see the effect.

The rats got to sip on a health shake (vanilla Ensure), a sugar solution, a protein-rich liquid called peptone, or a high-fat beverage made of corn oil. Then researchers anesthetized and dissected the rats, rapidly freezing their organs for analysis.

Want know how to lose weight in ONE HOUR??? then read on…..

When you feel hungry have a glass of water…then wait one hour. For that one hour that you are hungry…keep busy…exercise or work extra hard.

During that one hour that you are hungry…your body will need to use stored enrgy (your fat!) to power you. You will burn calories that are stored as opposed to calories that you have just eaten.
